Testimonials
A few of our Voyager team member stories.
The transition into coaching from my professional tennis career was smooth. My first full time coaching role was at Hunters Hill Club, where I eventually oversaw the tennis program there.
After 2 years, I moved to Voyager which enabled me to expand professionally, learning from and bouncing ideas off the other coaches. I wanted to be around a team of coaches that could help push me to become a better coach.
In 2021, I first moved into a Senior Coach role at Voyager under the watchful eye of Jareth Magnus and Adam Feeney. It was amazing being around two very professional and knowledgeable coaches that were always happy to pass on their wisdom and help me however possible.
A year into the role, an opportunity to become Head Tennis Professional at Cintra Park (Concord) arose. It was the perfect time for a new challenge.
Working at Voyager has been extremely rewarding. I get to coach really talented players as well as receive all the fantastic training to become the best coach and Head Tennis Professional I can be.
My love for tennis began when my son started pursuing tennis. As his passion for tennis grew it required more involvement from me as a parent to nurture my son’s skills to support his development. Being a professional in Customer Service and business analytics, I don’t have a tennis background and hence I have always looked for a professional Tennis Coaching academy that can provide the right guidance and pathway for my son to pursue his aspiration to develop as a competent tennis player. This search came to a pleasant end for me when I discovered an opportunity to join Voyager Tennis in the Customer Service Team. It has been a wonderful one year of enriched and rewarding journey for me so far with Voyager Tennis. Besides this, my son gets the best in class coaching from the most experienced and elite coaches in the tennis industry today. I couldn’t have asked for anything better than this for myself and my son. Needless to say, I am very excited and happy to be a part of the Voyager team, which appreciates and values its people.
After retiring from playing on the professional tennis circuit I decided to move away from the game of tennis to pursue a career in another profession. Even though I was successful during my time away from the game, my passion for tennis was always strong. A few years ago I decided to pursue my love of tennis and Voyager gave me an opportunity to join their team in a Senior Coach role. After approximately 9 months in that role an opportunity came up to be the Human Resources Manager which combined the skills I had learned in my previous profession with my passion. I jumped at the chance to continue to be a part of tennis and the Voyager brand. Working within the Voyager team has been an unbelievable experience and the career pathways on offer are fantastic. I look forward to my future with Voyager and the other opportunities that may be around the corner!
Having started with Voyager as a senior coach my top priority was to cultivate a growth mindset, one of the top priorities of Voyager. I knew very well that I didn’t know everything, but I believed that if I could continue to work at things every day that improvement would come, much in the same way as it does when developing as a player. I was provided the relevant training when needed and was given the opportunity to work alongside some of the best coaches in the country, in both the club and performance space. I have made some great friends along the journey and have now been given the opportunity to become a Head Tennis Professional, which was always a goal of mine. I give credit to the Voyager management team for putting my work ethic to the test and providing me with opportunities to grow both professionally and personally.
My two students in India trained at Voyager in 2017 and were so impressed with the culture and the team at Voyager. This encouraged me to contact Voyager so I could add a bit more to my tennis coaching skills and understand the sport better to help athletes achieve more. When I contacted Voyager I was humbled that they allowed me to visit their academy to learn how they run their programs. It was such an amazing experience in my life – spending two months with Voyager in 2018. The team work, ethics, culture and how they focused on every tiny detail to help all the athletes to achieve what they want in the sport and to build their personal character. The atmosphere at Voyager inspired me to move to Sydney and work with one of the best teams around the world! After my two months learning experience, Voyager sponsored me as a tennis coach and now I’m living in Sydney and working with one of the best tennis academies in the world.
